Daily Talk
Regardless of WHAT it is that we are going through, David set an example for us on how to pray in Psalm 119, it is a vital resource for us. Whether you are going through a storm in life, recovering from hurt, people pleasing, anxiety, depression, pornography, over-thinking, addiction, etc. No matter what your struggle is, read this out loud, daily:
God keep me from lying to myself.
Help me to be honest with myself.
Help me see myself in the mirror.
Show me where my soul is unhealthy.
Let me see where I need to change.
Show me where I need to forgive.
Help me to prevent anyone from taking my joy.
Help me to release the wrongs done against me in years past.
Help me to forgive myself for my past mistakes.
Show me how to be more understanding and kind.
Help me to start seeing myself the way you see me, as valuable.
Help me to understand that I am Your masterpiece, and the apple of your eye.
I encourage you, in your own walk with God, to speak the scriptures over your own life, daily, sometimes even hourly. Because when the enemy comes in like a flood, it is the Lord’s battle, not your own, therefore fight with His word! Quote it, speak it, post it on your walls, as much as you need to until you believe the words you are speaking. This is how we fight this battle between our ears, so to speak. Our minds are powerful, our mouths (according to the Bible) have the power to bring life or death. Fight back, take back your territory, take back your family, take back your self worth, take back your God-given gifts - take it all back, but this time, like me, take it back the right way. Fight the right way - with the Word of God, and with your own mouth by speaking it daily.
